January 22, 2021

Two weeks back at work now, and I have to say, I did miss it.  I resume teaching first aid classes tomorrow, so once again anxiety kicks in.  It always does.  Why?  Cause while it is still a private company, I don't know all the staff, and I always get nervous leading up to teaching people I don't know.  When people I know are there, I am a lot more comfortable the night before and morning of before I arrive!   It hasn't been overly eventful here.  We had quite the wind storm the other day, so that was entertaining, but no damage here thankfully.  Some neighbours were not as lucky though, downed trees, fences, toppled BBQs, etc.  It didn't bring the snow we expected, but it did start snowing softly today.  Maybe we will actually get a little bit of winter!  January has been unseasonally warm so far this year, so a little bit of snow will be nice. M1 lost his first tooth last night, so we had a very excited minion last night an...

January 8, 2020

Another day has come and past, and it wasn't too bad.  I finished reading my first book of the year, so YAY!  Only a minimum of 25 to go.   When Nell "kidnapped" me yesterday, I got to have a bit of adult time and see her brand new house.  No we aren't going against Covid restrictions, she lives alone and I am one of her two people she is allowed to visit.  Mental health is important all around after all, and we talk lots.  It's just not the same as the occasional visit we so desperately crave lately. Mandatory online school finished today, and the government says we go back on Monday.  It will be nice to have M1 back in school, but I will not lie and say that I won't miss it a bit.  It was nice to see his school learning in progress with his classmates. But, I miss driving my big old school bus, and I will be glad to be behind the wheel again.  Even if it means bright and early mornings before the sun is even up (at least for a fe...

January 7, 2021

We are 7 days into 2021, and all I can think is.....WTF!!! To be fair, online schooling (which is mandatory this week, we await our provincial leader's decision later today about what's next) has been going well, albeit frustrating at times. PiC (Partner in Crime) is home from work for the next few days, although is spending his time gaming instead of assisting with Minion 1 (M1) schooling and keeping Minion 2 (M2) occupied.  M2 has greatly enjoyed being downstairs with daddy, but getting chores done (and some of my new years goals) is still a challenge. I decided to make a goal this year of keeping up a daily workout schedule, I usually give up midway through week 3 of the month, and a reading goal.  There is also a "finished the damned crafts you started years ago" goal for the year, but for that we will just keep our fingers crossed.  I'm within 100 pages of finishing reading my first book of the year.  However, I'm also 1 glass away from finishing my firs...

Welcome to my blog

It is January 7, 2021.  For anyone who has been living under a rock, thank f 2020 is gone.  The first 5 days of 2021 were great, and then stuff happened in the States on the 6th day.  Again, you had to have lived under a rock to have missed it all.  So why did I decide to start writing today, on the 7th of January?  Well, I'll be honest, wine helped. But also, I find as time moves on, it would be nice to be able to look back at everything.  Did I do this in 2020 when I probably should have? No.  Will I slowly recount the last year, most definitely. Now, due to the privacy of aspects of my job, I will not be posting specifics, at any time.  Will I be vague, yes.  But I will use fake names throughout and will keep a running post of names and who they are in relation to stories.  My two children will always be the minions, minion 1 (M1) and minion 2 (M2). So thank you for joining me in this wonderfully crazy, probably dramatic rollerc...
